Districtwide Earthquake Drill – October 16, 2025

Get Ready to ShakeOut!

On Thursday, October 16, 2025, CRPUSD will participate in a districtwide earthquake drill as part of the Great ShakeOut. This important safety exercise is being conducted in partnership with Rohnert Park Public Safety, Cotati Police, Sonoma State University, the City of Cotati, the City of Rohnert Park, and North Bay Security.

The purpose of the drill is to ensure that our students and staff know how to respond quickly and safely in the event of an earthquake.

We are proud to work with our community partners to strengthen safety and preparedness for everyone. Thank you for your support in helping us create a safe learning environment for all students.

Meet the Principal

Principal Rachel Galdamez

Dear Monte Vista Elementary community,

I am honored to serve as the principal at Monte Vista Elementary School. Monte Vista has a family atmosphere that is supportive for both students and staff. All of our staff and educators are passionate about a rigorous, integrated education, inquiry based learning, and supporting ALL students to succeed. My style is to cultivate caring relationships with staff and students based on respect, growth, and collaboration for continuous learning.

I am a passionate and dedicated educator with 18 years of successful experience in the classroom and 3 incredible years as a site administrator. I hold a Masters degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction as well as two teaching credentials and my administrative credential. As Principal, I aspire to create a culture and educational program conducive to student learning and development. My philosophy is that discipline starts with education, directly teaching the skills to interact appropriately, repairing harm when done, and keeping everyone on campus safe physically and emotionally.

My greatest strengths include collaborative leadership, organization, strategic planning, empowering and guiding educators to develop their leadership and instructional skills, coordination and leadership in the school and greater community. Both as an instructional leader and a manager, I have used my technology skills to create effective and efficient systems such as an immediate feedback system for teachers when I visit classrooms. I foster strong working relationships with local and school communities and enjoy bringing diverse groups of people together around a common mission.

Please contact me with any questions you may have and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
